We are the only hair salon in Boulder to completely blend and sew hair extensions specifically for you. Each set is custom blended (not colored, unless it's a fashion color) from the highest quality European hair. This ensures that each strand of hair has the cuticle laying in the proper direction to eliminate tangles or frizz. The hair looks and feels like yours and can be colored and styled just like your hair.
As hair extensions have become increasingly popular and straining supply, more low-quality hair is being manufactured in China or taken from women in India. We have a relationship the direct source from which we purchase our European, fair-trade hair in bulk. The hair commands a fair price and is provided by willing people. The hair is then treated and (sometimes) lightened on the coast of Southern Italy. The lightest blonde colors take longer for delivery as the lightening process is done delicately over a period time.
We do not use glue, tape, or adhesive remover to install extensions. We use silicone micro beads for installation of hair and recommend our clients come back every 4-6 weeks for maintenance. Each time we take out the extensions, we brush the natural hair underneath and install again with clean parts and new beads. This ensures that the extensions are never on the same stand of hair for more than 4-6 weeks at a time. This also ensures that your natural hair will not tangle or knot underneath.
The only salon nationwide which custom blends and sews the highest quality of European Hair for incredibly natural extensions. The hair is installed with silicone micro beads which are gentle and re-usable so you can wear your extensions time and time again. Hair usually lasts 9-12 months with proper care.
Ember Hair Extensions either come in single or double weft rows. Both styles of extensions can fill an entire head. Your Ember Extensionist can assist you in selecting a preference, which is dependent upon comfort for you, your lifestyle and your commitment to extension maintenance. Typically, double weft rows are more secure and last longer between appointments. Single weft rows lay closer to the head and are more easily hidden.
Starting at $300 per row
The rows are measured in width around the head and the selected length also determines the price. An average set of a full head of single rows would be an example of this: 1st row: 6" wide ($300), 2nd row: 11" wide ($420), 3rd row: 10" wide ($400), totaling $1220 for 16" of length.
Starting at $300 per row
Double weft rows only come in 3.5" wide but are folded over so the density is twice as thick as single weft rows. To complete a full head, five (5) rows are needed. An example of an average full head of double weft rows at 16" would be $1500.
The service to install the extensions includes a haircut, style and 2 week check-up appointment.
$125 per row
This option is for those who are adding just a row or two for volume (not length) or a pop of color.
Single or double weft installment. This service takes 1.5-2 hours.
We recommend seeing your Ember Extensionist every 4-6 weeks to ensure proper care of your extensions and your natural hair.

I have been doing hair extensions since before Beauty School. Following completion of school, 16 years ago, I took every class that was offered to learn about hair extensions. I am certified in almost every brand. Through trial and error, I have found likes and dislikes from each method of hair extensions and that is why I created my own method. Supporting the highest quality of reusable hair with the least amount of damage is my overall goal for my clients.

Hair extensions are a lifestyle. Most, who have hair extensions, say they are easier to take care of than their natural hair. But they take care, time and money.
For anyone who has struggled with fine hair that they try to make fuller or has gone through the frustrating processes of growing their hair to only find out it looked limp, then hair extensions are for you! The amount of time you spend trying to style it and make it look a certain way, will be eliminated because hair extensions always look full and styled.
They certainly take a while to get used to, but once you figure out a rhythm that works for you and ways to wash and style them, you will see that you are spending less time to make your hair look good and more time enjoying it.
